Shivan Theories

There are probably as many theories about the Shivans motives, origin, and actions as there are people who play FreeSpace 2. These are several of them in order to make people think, please do not simply read them and decide "which one is right" you should come up with your own ideas.

There are many explainations as to the intentions, biology, technology, and adaptability of the Shivans, none of them are considered canon. Additionally, no theories are supposed to represent the point of view of the entire FreeSpace community.
