Head west
on 380 and get to Plains |

Cleaning off
the fuzz |

This first task is a little tricky, as you soon
discover that getting far on 380 is nearly
impossible. A few hundred yards from the start
point, you'll drive through a seemingly abandoned
roadblock. Just beyond this roadblock is Bauxite
Road. Note its location - it will come in handy
in a minute. Just beyond the first roadblock is a
second, guarded by three patrol cars. They'll
exchange a few words with you, then immediately
begin firing on you. Make haste to the east, back
toward Bauxite Road, firing from your rear
hardpoint and dropping blocks or oil on the road.
(Oil is particularly handy at the turn onto
Bauxite - if a cop hits the slick, there's a good
chance he'll swerve into the ditch just to the
east of the road.) |
Get rid
of the pigs! They have been paid to bring you in |

Using the
terrain |

Actually "take you down" is more like
it. These cops will be the hardest enemies you've
faced so far, and it's only going to get worse
during the course of the mission.
Try to get the police separated so you can take
them on one by one. The added armor to your front
will serve as protection as you riddle them with
your linked 50 cals. Once you've destroyed one of
the cops, you'll hear an announcement from a
police helicopter. The helicopter will do a lot
of damage, and it's extremely hard to down flying
opponents without heat seeking missiles (which
you probably won't have this early in the game).
There are two places where you'll have a good
chance to get rid of the whirly bird: in the
canyon near the second road block (just turn in
circles and it will crash into the wall)and at
the dead end near the barn at the northwest end
of Bauxite. The second area is especially
effective, as it gives you a good long stretch to
joust with the rollers - just stay close to the
cliff walls and the helicopter will eventually
crash.
Once the first three pigs are gone, two more will
appear. You'll probably be in pretty bad shape by
this time, but you'll have to persevere. Use the
terrain to your advantage; inevitably, one or two
cops will flip over if you can get them to drive
straight at a wall. Once the second group of cops
is gone, another distress call will go out and
two more will appear. You only have to get rid of
one of these pigs - the second will flee and ask
for the roadblock to be reopened. If you really
want justice, you can try to get rid of him
before he makes it, but once his call goes out,
you're home free. Head back to 380 and west
through the roadblock. |
