The original Unreal Tournament was a great game and was further enhanced by the many mutators people developed for it. One of my favourite mutators for the game was XMaps. After having enjoyed the increased functionality of XMaps, I was disappointed when I heard that Touchstone would not be converting his mutator for UT2003. Having a background in c++, I started work learning UnrealScript and made my first two mutators: Adrenaline Plus and Health Vials Plus. I then worked over the period of a month to bring MapMixer to its first beta release.
At the very beginning, my simple goal for MapMixer was Map List Shuffling and Map Skipping functionality for UT2003 but as the days went by MapMixer evolved into a much larger encompassing system.
When UT2004 was released I completely overhauled MapMixer and converted it to work with the new game.
MapMixer was entered into the Make Something Unreal Contest - Phase 2 (MapMixer v1.10) and Phase 3 (MapMixer v2.0) in the Tools category, winning 1st place in Phase 2 and 4th place in Phase 3.

MapMixer is developed in Australia (thus the reason why "customise" is spelt with an "s" :D )
