Configuration |
The eighth page of the MapMixer Configuration is where you manage the default settings for each installed map. You use Map Defaults to set the standard settings for a map, so each time it is played, it appears with these settings (unless they have been overridden). Default settings can consist of Game Rules, Player Counts, Bot Skill, Mutators and Custom Bots.
On the left top there is a Game Type drop-down list. This contains a list of all game types plus a special entry called "[Default Properties]" that appears at the top of the list.
These are the standard settings that you want to apply to a map regardless of game type. For example, you may always want the LowGrav mutator applied to a map regardless of what game type it is played in. Simply select the [Default Properties] in the Game Types list and then select the map and alter it's settings.
Note that not all map settings are available in the [Default Properties] section - this is because some of these settings require an actual game type to apply settings to and this section disregards game type.
To apply map settings to a map in a specific game type, simply select the game from the drop-down list, click on the map and adjust the settings you wish. Now, each time that map is played in that game type, the settings you altered will be applied to that map (unless overridden).
It is important to understand that each individual Game Type setting for a map has precedence over the [Default Properties] map! This means that, for example, if you enabled the LowGrav mutator in the [DefaultProperties] section for a particular map and you then set the LowGrav Mutator for that map to disabled for a specific game type, then the LowGrav Mutator would be enabled for this map in each game type, except the game type for which it is disabled. This applies to all other settings in the Map Defaults section.
At the bottom left of the Map Defaults Tab is a button labelled "ONS Default Links". This allows you can override the default Link Setup for each Onslaught Map. See Overriding Default Lin Setups
