Mission Five
Mission Objective: Enter the underground geothermal facility and destroy the core taps. Eliminate all forces in the area and ride the lift back to the surface.

Primary Objectives: Destroy core Tap at Ops. Able, Baker, Charlie and Dog. Reach elevator to surface at Op. Echo. Destroy Smoke Jaguar Forces.

Secondary Objective: None

Difficulty: Hard

Mech Recommendation: An Annihilator with a full arsenal of autocannons and medium to large lasers.

The area for this mission is extremely small, and despite what the briefing told you, you will be facing heavy Mechs in the form of three Sunders. To make matters more irritating, several Elementals patrol the area down here, taking potshots with their pulse lasers and small missile weaponry. You should pick the heaviest Mech you have available, preferably the tank like Annihilator. Equip it with an autocannon and loads of ammunition.

At the mission start, a Sunder approaches from the left. Move out of the cubby and take it down with autocannon and lasers. Don't venture to far forward or two other Sunders on the right will pummel you with missiles and PPC lasers. A few Elementals will approach with the left Sunder. Take them out with your laser weapons.

Instead of going after the other Elementals or the core taps, you might as well get rid of the biggest threat on this level: the two remaining Sunders. Move forward slowly until one of the Sunders is in view (don't go out so far that you have to deal with both at once). Unleash your autocannon, missiles and anything else you brought with you until the Sunder is destroyed. Continue moving forward until the other heavy Mech is in your sights.

With both Sunders down, the rest of the mission is a simple clean-up affair. Destroy the four core taps and get rid of the remaining pesky Elementals. Just approach them and take them out with laser weaponry. After all enemy forces are destroyed, you'll gain access to the elevator at Op. Echo, ending the mission successfully.
