Grand Prix 1979 for Rfactor by Grand Prix Classics Ver. 1.1 UPDATE /////INSTALLATION Make sure you already have GP79 v1.0 and trackpack v1.0 installed. Just extract the contents of this .rar into your rfactor folder, overwriting any files when prompted. /////GENERAL NOTES This update adds a few tidbits and fixes some of the major issues we´ve found with the mod so far. Further track-related issues will be addressed in a future update of the trackpack. Special thanks to the members of the community who helped us find the problems, and in some cases fixed them for us :) ***THE MONZA MISMATCH BUG*** The mismatch problem with Monza is due to the existence of two terrain files within the Monza folders. This update blanks one of those files but that´s not enough to get rid of the mismatch. This will be addressed in the trackpack update, but the recommended temporary solution is to manually delete the following file: rfactor\gamedata\locations\GPC79tracks\13_Monza\Monza\Monza.tdf --> should be 0kb after the installation of this udpate. ***THE SHIFTER UPGRADE ISSUE*** Following some debate on the subject of the shifter upgrade and the difference in performance between the two options, we´ve decided to make shifting delays the same for them both. The gated shifter upgrade now should only have an effect when using autoclutch and/or autoblip (if you´re using neither and running a gated shifter, it´s recommeded to use the gated option). The performance is otherwise the same for both. We realise some users would rather remain with the option to run without the delays, and from our perspective it would even be fair to remain with a smaller advantage to those tackling the realistic challenge of running a gated shifter. But without it being possible to limit such option only for those who are actually running with that gear, leaving an option with whatever discrepancy in performance would merely create room for dissent and suspicion among users of the mod, for what is ultimately a minor issue. In lack of a better compromise, this is where we are at. ////CHANGELOG This is the thick of what has changed from v1.0: -Adjusted fuel consumption and consumption prediction (accuracy depends on tracks´ AIWs being correct as well); -Several AI-related tweaks (more balanced and consistent performance through the different difficulty levels in all tracks); -Fixed Brabham BT49 sounds; -Fixed glitch where suspension would move erratically; -Adjusted drafting values (following another car closely might cause some very slight instability); -Shifter upgrade no longer modify shift delay (no significant performance difference between the options); -Cars no longer get stuck in curbs as easily; -Adjusted heating and cooling equations for the engines (helps warm-up lap issues - still need to turn off the engine during longer pitstops); -Adjusted Renault engine files, added boost dial back (can be adjusted in the garage and from the cockpit, check your button mappings); -Some tire and suspension refinements (should improve driveability); -Adjusted AI for more concise performaq -Lowered mirror resolution to 1024x256 to improve FPS; -Fixed skins descriptions for Ensign; -Fixed upgrade and naming bug of the Merzario in Unrestricted mode; -New tach textures; -New wheels textures; -New tire textures; -Fixed leg texture for the Rebaque; -Fixed distorted mirrors on Renault RS01; -Fixed smoothing on Renault (all models) mirrors; -Changed the rfm to allow two garages for the Alfa Romeo; -Added talent files for the two Alfa drivers; -Raised concrete curbing at Long Beach´s first chicane to prevent cutting; -Fixed bug that could show black shadows in the distance with certain graphical settings; -Fixed Osterreichring floating grass bug; -Replaced faulty skybox at Dijon.
