Sauropods have heavy bodies, elephantine legs and feet, and long necks and tails, and diplodocus is the longest member of the family. They are plant-eaters who live in small family groups, and are normally peaceful if not threatened. However, their sheer bulk makes them formidable opponents if aroused.
