Into Germany: V2 Rocket Site
Festung Recogne | V2 Rocket Site | The Reichstag |
This is a meatier mission than the U.S. one, so prepare to sink your teeth into a long battle in the snow. Now playing as the Brits, you re-team with Winters for one final mission -- Taking out the German V2 rockets.
Objective 1: Destroy the Flakvierling anti-aircraft guns
(2)
That's a hard word to say, but AA guns are so
easy to destroy. Getting there will be the hard part. You are team with Winters
and it's just you and him. You are point man and will be playing the role of
sniper. Winters will be flushing and cleaning out nesting enemies while you
provide support with your Scoped Kar98k. There are several pockets of enemies.
Each time you come across new baddies, go prone and snipe. Let Winters do the
real dirty work. The more effective you are, the better chance he has. Winters
is highly skilled, so keeping him alive will make this mission run a lot
smoother.
The two AA Guns are separate from one another, but the process to reaching them remains the same. Always follow the compass. At each AA Gun, after the Nazis have been cleared out, plant your explosives on the glowing yellow box and run for cover.
Objective 2: Intercept and destroy the supply trucks
(2)
Take a couple of steps down the path towards the
objective marker and look left. Nazis come flooding out of the bunker on the
hill. Greet them with bullets and head up the hill. There's a path on the hill
you can follow towards the Objective Marker. This leads to an abandoned bunker.
Though this is a great sniping spot, the two trucks will not arrive unless you
join Winter atop the hill. Be certain not to shoot your buddies across the
street. Crouch and wait for the trucks to near. There are mines planted, so each
truck blows and it's just a matter of mopping up the Nazis that get free from
the truck.
Objective 3: Locate the V2 launch site
Move to point and head left. They'll be some Nazis
along the way, but your mates will be a great help. As you near a bunker, you'll
head the MG42 fire. Head up to the top of one of the snow hills, crawling as you
near the crest, and snipe the gunner. Head left to flank the next bunker. Once
it's clear you can hop across the street and see the giant rockets. It's around
this time that everything gets squirrely.
Objective 4: Fuel rockets
There are two, attached bunkers that will cause you
major problems. As you are told to kick up the fuel in the V2 rockets, head to
the right. Nazis will be coming out of the sunken entrance to the bunker. A
grenade here will do nicely, then mop up with your submachine gun. Head down the
stairs and into the bunker.
The first bunker is the largest you've been in so far. It can get tricky to navigate, so let the Objective Marker be your guide. Don't worry about progressing through the bunker quickly, your goal first and foremost is to make sure every Nazi is eliminated so they don't flank you. Take each room systematically, throw grenades down long hallways, and use the peepholes to execute enemies while maintaining full protection. Don't move to another section until the room you're in is completely sanitized. When you reach the fuel center, you'll know it. Look for the switch on the wall and hit F to pump in the fuel.
Objective 5: Destroy the rockets (3)
Make your way back outside. Remember, there are still
some Nazis out there, so watch your back. Go to each V2 rocket and set a charge
on the glowing yellow box. The explosives will go off five seconds after one's
placed, but the blast radius is minimal so you can easily get away in time.
Objective 6: Exfiltrate through the north bunker
Once all three rockets are toast, head back towards the
bunker you just exited, only this time go right, into the Northern bunker.
Follow Winters to the exit and you're done. Good job, old chap!
