Montignac Must Fall--Moving Toward the Town of Montignac in Central Everon

Briefing: Our mission to force back the invaders on Everon continues. Your next objective is to seize the village of Montignac (located at grid location Di45), currently occupied by hostile forces. The truck will unload our squad in the forest (located at grid location De44) northwest from Montignac at 5:40am.

Objectives: Seize Montignac. You'll be up against infantry with some armor support. Alpha Squad, our team (positioned at grid location Dg45), will move in from the west. Bravo Squad (positioned at grid location Dh43) will come from the north, and Charlie Squad (positioned at grid location Ea43) from the northwest. After securing the village, Alpha and Bravo squads should join together and wait for the truck. The truck will transport squads back to the main camp. Charlie Squad will stay on guard at the village.

Follow the mission leader and your fellow soldiers toward Montignac. Your initial loadout includes flares, which can be used to illuminate the dusk sky. You may need the extra light because the enemy soldiers surrounding Montignac's perimeter are extremely difficult to see. As you approach, a transmission indicates: "Foxtrot Black to Papa Bear. Df25 under heavy attack from the sea. Send backup. We can't hold out much longer. Over."

There isn't much light as you siege Montignac.

Concentrate on the matter at hand. You'll spot a BMP as you approach the outskirts of Montignac. Avoid the BMP and let your RPG-equipped mates blast the enemy vehicle. It's a big risk to assault the BMP. Consider remaining back and letting your fellow soldiers blast the BMP as you scan the terrain for the well-hidden enemy soldiers.

Remain back from Montignac and use all available cover against the enemy defenders. Get down on the ground to avoid presenting a large target for the enemy soldiers. Scan the outskirts of Montignac carefully to spot the muzzle flashes indicating the enemy positions. Continue to approach and enter the village. Move carefully through the village, because there may be remaining enemies--watch out for an ambush!

Clear Montignac of enemy forces and receive new transmissions: "The village is ours. Get over here with the truck" and "Papa Bear to Black: Back off. We have new orders. All us army personnel must withdraw from Everon. Backup no longer assigned. They've been called away." You receive an update to your mission plan.

Objective: Go to Morton (located at grid location Dj68) to evacuate from Everon.

A 5t truck has been sent to pick up your group. Follow the mission leader and your fellow soldiers to the 5t truck and climb into the vehicle. You're headed to Ed52. The truck exits Montignac and proceeds toward Provins. As you approach Provins, your group comes under fire from enemy soldiers defending the perimeter. You're ordered to disembark; do so and listen to the command: "We're engaging Russian forces near Provins."

Get inside the 5t truck to start the evacuation, though you're not protected for long.

Stay to the right of the road. You should be able to scamper on the hill along the right side of the road. The top of the hill offers a good line of fire on the defending enemies. Remain back from the BMP that appears during the assault. There are many concealed enemies. Drop to the ground and crawl toward the outskirts of Provins and pick off the remaining enemies. The 5t truck is destroyed during the skirmish. A Blackhawk has been sent to pick up the group.

You'll soon discover the Blackhawk isn't alone. There's an enemy Hind pursuing the Blackhawk, and it shoots down your way out. You're ordered to take cover at the fuel station and forest beyond. Scamper quickly into the forest west of Provins to complete the mission.

After Montignac--Hidden in the Forest, West of Provins

Briefing: You are somewhere in the forest (located at grid location Di54). You must get out of here quickly if you want to save your life.

Objective: Get to the rendezvous point in Morton (located at grid location Dj69).

Like many Operation Flashpoint missions, there are several different ways to complete After Montignac. You can stick within the forest and crawl your way carefully south toward Morton. You may have to elude several Russian patrols as well as defend yourself against attack. Every choice includes its own set of unique dangers. Here's a sample solution that offers one of the quickest routes to the evacuation zone.

TIP: If you plan to sneak your way south to Morton, search the corpses for additional weaponry. For instance, search the corpses in front of your start position for additional M16 magazines, binoculars, and a LAW launcher. You can use the binoculars to scan the upcoming terrain for Russian patrols. Use the LAW launcher to nail unsuspecting patrol groups.

You could drive back inside a commandeered Soviet jeep.

Turn to the east and run through the forest toward Ec52. You shouldn't have to crawl within the forest if you turn east and begin running immediately at the start position (if you wait, some Russian patrols within the forest may catch up with you). Emerge out of the forest and scamper into grid location Ec52, making sure to avoid the BMP parked close-by in Ec51. You'll find an abandoned UAZ in Ec52.

Get into the UAZ's driver's seat and start south along the road. Stick to the road so you can drive as fast as possible. The BMP may take shots at you. Weave back and forth and proceed through Figari. You may spot another Russian tank and soldiers within Figari.

Your captors are under attack. Remain inside the tent or grab a discarded weapon if you're daring!

Maneuver quickly beyond them and continue toward the forest at Ea64. Get within the forest as soon as possible. Radio transmissions soon reveal that the original evacuation zone in Morton has been compromised. A new evacuation point is issued, and your mission plan is updated.

Objective: Morton is enemy territory now. Get to the alternative meeting point (located at grid location Ea64).

Run into the forest at the evacuation point at Ea64. You're automatically surrounded and captured by Russian soldiers. You appear inside a tent. Stay inside the tent because you're about to be rescued. If you're daring, you can grab an AK-47 from one of the corpses close to the tent and take out the remaining tent guards.
