Briefing: Lieutenant Hammer, NATO armor is finally gaining the upper hand on Everon. The Soviet tank force has been pushed down to the southern end of the island, and it's your platoon's task to squeeze it back even further. Your platoon, call sign Yankee, will begin this mission at 07:30 at grid reference Fb58.
Objectives: Neutralize the enemy presence in Levie (located at grid location Fi63). Radio Zulu team (located at grid location Ga58) to hold the village. Be aware that Zulu team is running at reduced strength. Objective A is the enemy base (located at grid location Fi67) to the south of Levie. Eliminate all Soviet forces there. Objective B is the fortified position at Gg72. Secure and hold this outpost.
You're inside an M1A1 and shouldn't be threatened by the Soviet defenses unless you're careless and attempt to tackle the enemy tanks without the support of your platoon. Proceed to Levie first (at grid reference F163) and take out its light defenses (a BMP, assorted troops, and a tank or two). Use the skills learned in the previous tank missions and apply them here. Stick with your platoon and let them do most of the combat if you're damaged or in a bad position to battle.
Blast Russian defenses. Assign specific targets for your platoon to facilitate success. |
Proceed to Objective A after securing Levie. You can choose to radio Zulu team at this point for them to hold Levie or wait until you have conquered Objective A or B. Either way, you're heading to Objective A, a Soviet base located at grid reference Fi67. Just move due south of Levie to locate the base. Its defenses are stronger than Levie's. Tackle the base's tank defenses first before worrying about soldiers.
You may need repairs and ammo by now (or not, if you have excelled in the tank combat). Locate your repair and ammo trucks sent in, and repair and rearm your tank or any of your platoon's tanks. Proceed to Objective B (a fortified position at grid reference Gg72). As you might expect, Objective B features the toughest defenses--many tough Soviet armored vehicles, with walls and rolling hills making target acquisition difficult. Conquer Objective B (as well as Levie and Objective A) to complete the mission.
Air Assault--Field Airport Near Montignac
Briefing: It's mopping-up time, Captain Nicholls. Today we clear all remaining Russian forces from Everon. The Russian antiaircraft forces have been destroyed, and the helicopters are back on Kolgujev. Enemies have been spotted near Saint Pierre (located at grid location Hg87) and Vernon (located at grid location Hb83) only. Climb aboard your Cobra, which is parked at its field base (located at grid location Db47). Your call sign is November One.
Objectives: Follow your flight plan, which takes you over Morton (located at grid location Dj68) and Durras (located at grid location Gj78) to Saint Pierre. Support NATO's tank force, designated Zulu and Foxtrot, to ensure the city is liberated. Return to base.
Time to hop back into the Cobra! Run to the Cobra and get inside as the pilot. Order your fellow soldier to hop inside the AH64 as the gunner. Take off and proceed toward Morton (found at grid reference Dj68) as the mission objectives state. You receive an urgent radio transmission on the way to Morton: "Firefly base, this is Buffalo base. We've got a whole bunch of armored infantry contacts along our position." You're redirected to Buffalo base.
Observe mission orders carefully and move your Cobra where needed. |
Ignore the path to Morton and divert your heading to Buffalo base. Destroy the BMP and other vehicles to clear Buffalo base of the Soviet threat. Don't proceed on your original mission plan until you're given the word that Buffalo is safe and clear of Soviet forces.
When you reach Saint Pierre, you find NATO's tank force, designated Zulu and Foxtrot, in a large battle with Soviet air and ground forces. Beware of the Soviet Hind in the air above Saint Pierre; target the enemy air unit as quickly as possible and shoot it down with a couple of missiles.
Cycle to ground targets once the Hind has been destroyed. Clear out the T72s, T80s, and other assorted troops. Zulu and Foxtrot can get most of the job done, though naturally you should assist as much as possible (if just to improve your mission score!). Once you are given the word that the city has been liberated, return to base to complete the mission.
