8. Carefully climb up the ramp to the top, sneak behind the line of Dark Archers, and get to within throwing distance of the drawbridge mechanism. Target the ground under it to blow it up and open the drawbridge. Be ready to fight the Archers who survive the initial blast; you can take them all out, if you are careful and good. Once they have been disintegrated, turn around and rain down grenades on the Brigands swarming across the drawbridge. This should soften them up for your Warriors waiting below. If you are feeling really valiant, turn your Pathfinder around and be ready to deal with a string of Brigands coming up to greet him. You can let him go at this point; he's served his purpose. MAP 9. March all of your units up the drawbridge, but be sure to keep your Warriors bunched up with your Bowmen and Dwarves, or else they'll be sitting ducks for the remaining Dark Archers on the wall. MAP 10. Once you have everyone safely under the arch, make a break for the far northern wall of this open area, outside the range of the Archers. MAP 11. Set up your Warriors in a west-facing Vanguard formation with your Dwarves standing in front and a Long Line of Bowman set up behind. Your Dwarves should be able to handle most of the Brigands that approach as you move west. MAP 12. Once the courtyard is clear of Brigands and any stray Archers who venture down from the wall. Set up your Dwarves and Warriors outside the iron gates on the northern wall of the courtyard. Advance until the gates open, revealing a squad of Stygian Knights. Use your grenades to tenderize and destroy them and then let your Warriors mop up the mess. MAP 13. Once the coast is clear, bring all of your units through the iron gates to the interior of the Keep. MAP |
