Like its predecessor, Myth II is a game that encourages perfectionism. Who doesn't want to get through every level without a scratch even if that means fighting every skirmish until you get it right? Truth is, you don't need to be quite that obsessive, but it is awfully fun to devise a way to decimate a seemingly overpowering foe. Just remember that in all but a few missions, it is not necessary that you have every man standing at the end of a mission. Sure, you get to carry over your survivors and they get some enhanced ability, but you can still defeat Soulblighter with a batch of brand-spanking-new units. These walk-throughs describe tested routes to navigate the game's 25 levels (24 normal and 1 secret). Early on, we will describe the details of fending off specific groups of villains, but we will increasingly presume that you know how to arrange and control your troops as time goes on. As such, later walk-throughs will focus more on direction than micromanagement. Consult this guide when you get lost and heed our warnings, for they are born of extensive experience. Do not, however, hesitate to experiment and do something radical; you may be surprised at what you can achieve with a little creativity. Walk-through Structure Each walk-through consists of a numbered list of directions, warnings, and tips that should prepare you for the rigors of the level. Of these numbered points, many have a corresponding geographical location on the map of that level. To see how that paragraph corresponds to a position on the map, simply click on the MAP link that's at the end of the paragraph and look for that position on the map. For example, if an instruction reads, "2. March your troops to the apex of the bridge and fire on the Ghôls below," and MAP appears at the end of that paragraph, a "2" will appear on the map indicating the apex of the bridge. Note that not all numbered walk-through points refer to a geographical point. Also note that in most cases these walk-throughs assume you are playing on the Normal difficulty level in suggesting how to combat the enemy. While changing the difficulty will not alter the geography, objective, or starting conditions of a level, it will determine the quantity, and in some cases the quality, of enemy forces you face.
