![]() Soulless ![]() In multiplayer, use Soulless as you would Bowmen, but utilize their floating ability whenever possible. Position Soulless on top of unscalable hills, sheer cliff faces, or uncrossable bodies of water. They're great for retrieving balls floating in deep water. Stygian Knights ![]() Since they contain no flesh, living or dead, Stygian Knights don't even blink - or wouldn't, if they had eyes - when struck with arrows, though Fire Arrows do have some effect. On the upside, they are unusually susceptible to explosives: Stygian Knights take over twice the damage from all explosive attacks, including Dwarven Cocktails and Wight suicides. This solitary weakness enables even a single Dwarf to devastate a large group of these otherwise powerful fighters. Stygian Knights can be found in a variety of states. On some levels, they seem to function as normal soldiers. In others, they are frozen statues, only activated if you make contact with them. In still others, they only come to life if attacked. Whatever the condition, Stygian Knights are very dangerous, and unless you have a Dwarf in your ranks, you'll have no good means with which to take them down. In multiplayer, Stygian Knights are fast, strong fighters with strong armor, and they render enemy archers all but worthless. Were it not for their vulnerability to explosives, they would be practically without equal. Keep them far away from Dwarves, but be sure to use them to rush unprotected Bowmen and Soulless as the Knights will take no damage as they approach. They are otherwise highly effective against all melee units - even Berserks, Heron Guards, and Myrkridia - although superior numbers can overwhelm them. |
