General Tactics and Weapons Strategies
Now that some of the preliminary
game difference notes are out of the way, let's take a look at some hints
and gameplay practices to keep in mind in the pregame area before you
actually jump in the cockpit and play out a mission.
|
Be aware of
when you can add extra members to your squad; in most situations,
more is better. Look for good or better member ratings. |
|
Assigning
vehicles is another important aspect, not just for yourself, but for
the rest of the squad as well. Aggressive squadmates may not do well
in light vehicles, but are more suited in an assault or attack role.
On most missions, a medium vehicle like the gorgon will work out pretty
well. |

Customizing
your hercs or vehicles will make or break your success. |
|
|
Don't forget to customize
or at least take a look at the vehicle design after every mission,
since a lot of interesting and useful items are retrieved. Swap out
those basic targeting computers for better models as fast as you can.
Adding and removing items will always require a balance of usefulness
on the battlefield, mass restrictions (unless the item is required
to accomplish a mission), and to a lesser extent, energy output (the
only trait you can go somewhat overboard on and not worry about it).
Remember to customize your squadmates' vehicles as well, because they
obviously won't do it for themselves. |
|
Typically,
the verbal mission briefing only gives you a general prospective and
overview of the mission objectives. Be sure to check out the objectives
selection to look at them specifically, as they could have a hint
or two you might have easily overlooked elsewhere. Plus, it will list
what items if any are needed. Secondary objectives are also listed. |
