Mission Eight: Get Help
Objectives:
- Get help for Shabayev by going to Manson's base on foot
You'll have to be extra, extra careful in this mission, as you'll be on foot and extremely vulnerable. Be on the lookout for Scion patrols, and don't even think about attacking one, for now. Watch out for the local dinosaur-like creatures - the rifle can kill them if you shoot enough, but in bunches they can be very dangerous.
Remember, you're on foot... so don't start taking on the Scions with your pea shooter. |
Head east toward the swamp, then go north-northwest. Note that you'll be able to see some power-ups on your radar - get them if you have the chance. Head west to the next swamp, then head south. Wait until the Scions pass, then run for the next swamp to the west. Keep heading west, picking up power-ups as you go.
Keep heading west toward the base. There won't be much cover to protect you from the Scions guarding just outside - you'll have to run the gauntlet and hope for some covering fire before making it inside.
Mission Nine: Rumble in the Jungle
Objectives:
- Attack the Scion base
- Rescue Shabayev
Move along with the other ISDF forces and take out the Scion sentry and warrior that you encounter. Make sure the service truck is following you to repair whatever damage is done, and order the factory to crank out reinforcements you'll probably eventually need.
As you move south you'll start running into tough Scion guardians. You can attack the tough way, right down their throats individually, which requires a bit of luck to pull off with your meager forces. Or you can snipe them at a distance with your sniper rifle, hop into the guardian, and attack the opposing guardians.
Now head back east, into a valley, where more Scions wait, including a builder. Kill the builder as soon as possible, then kill his buddies. You can continue sniping or just duke it out - however you see fit.
The Scion base is now close by, and the major lends you an APC to use. Order the APC to land in the base, and at about the same time assault the base yourself. Head north to meet Shabayev once everything is secure.
