Vehicle Guide
In Battlezone II, getting to know the capabilities and limitations of each of the vehicles is paramount to successfully playing the game - whether in single-player or multiplayer mode.
You should know which vehicle is capable of doing the particular job you need done or perhaps is best suited to your style of play.
ISDF Forces
Thunderbolt Scout
Built by: Recycler
Propulsion: Hover
Speed: Fast
Armor: None
Weapon Hardpoints: 2 Guns, Rocket, Special
The thunderbolt scout serves as an excellent mobile platform for scouting around the map, performing reconnaissance missions, and so forth. It is fast, somewhat agile, and can defend itself ably if attacked. The scout also has one of the largest radar ranges of all the units in the game, so it can also do quite well as an advanced-warning platform (or in naval terms, a radar picket).
Sabre Tank
Built by: Factory
Propulsion: Hover
Speed: Medium
Armor: Light
Weapon Hardpoints: 2 Guns, Cannon, Mortar, Special
This is perhaps the best all-around vehicle available to the ISDF. The sabre can absorb fire, can maneuver and turn fairly well, and can deal out punishment in any number of ways, depending on the situation. It works well as an attack or a defense vehicle.
Avenger Missile Scout
Built by: Factory
Propulsion: Hover
Speed: Medium
Armor: None
Weapon Hardpoints: 2 Rockets, Special
While not as fast as a thunderbolt scout, the avenger is an ideal defensive platform for early-game base defense, using missile firepower to overwhelm early-game opponents that you may happen to encounter. Its light armor (read: none) makes it a liability for mostly everything else.
Jackal Mortar Bike
Built by: Factory
Propulsion: Hover
Speed: Fast
Armor: None
Weapon Hardpoints: Mortar
The jackal mortar bike is good for pretty much one thing only - base attack. Use it to bombard enemy structures and other positions from long range. It has two defensive mechanisms: its relatively fast speed and any type of unit you decide to bring along to defend it once it gets attacked. However, if you can catch the enemy in groups, use multiple bikes to put a few extra rounds on top of their heads.
