Issue 29, The Madness of Mr. Mechanical

Primary Objectives:
Defeat Mr. Mechanical
Protect Freedom Fortress

Secondary Objectives:
Protect the school
Protect the police station
Protect the hospital building

Enemies:
Mr. Mechanical
Mech men
Flame Mech

Cannisters:
1x Green (Experience) on the roof a building two blocks away from the front of Freedom Fortress (if you think about it, Freedom Fortress looks like the building the M.I.B. uses in the first movie).

1x Gold (Prestige) inside a crate in an alley at a corner of the map; it'll be past Mr. Mechanical's initial starting position.

1x Red (Health) at the hospital roof.

If you want to save all the buildings mentioned, then by all means fly Man-Bot, Man O'War and any other fliers you have to the school and lay waste to Mr. Mechanical. So long as a part of the school remains standing, the secondary objective is satisfied. As a rule, do not get close to Mr. Mechanical, since he automatically does damage to any hero stupid enough to get in his way. By attacking him alternately, it is possible to get him confused about who to take out first (Man O'War with Man-Bot to recharge him on one side, El Diablo and Black Bird or Microwave on the other side -- keep in mind Microwave takes forever to run the three blocks to the school).

If Mechanical destroys the school, or if his life is whittled away to a certain point, he will switch targets to the police station, then the hospital. Once he is about to die, he will summon Mech Men and Flame Mechs to assault Freedom Fortress, as well as heading there himself. If your team is well built (and powerful enough), they can mop the floor with Mechanical's squishy brains before he gets a chance to scratch the paint on the base. Above all, keep Man O'War safe (unless you have a back-up customized electric hero), then Man-Bot. You'll need Man-Bot's Transfer to keep Man O'War's electric attacks going. For posterity, Mechanical, like his goons, is vulnerable to electricity.

Training
New Heroes: None, Zilch, Nada.

Bring Microwave along, even though his attacks are not totally effective agains the next few enemies. You'll need him and Man-Bot or Supercollider (who is made of Stone) to resist the attacks of the Alien's radioactive rayguns. Alchemiss is the locked-spot in this mission, so you will need to keep her safe. A custom hero should have ranged piercing attacks with high accuracy and a stone body (should cost what? 5000 or less) to deal with the alien menace.

Issue 30, History Lesson

Primary Objectives:
Find and subdue the aliens
Close the alien portals
Protect Alchemiss
Protect the museum

Secondary Objectives:
Keep the museum undamaged

Enemies:
Alien Sergeant
Alien Warrior
Praetor

Cannisters:
1x Green (Experience) on roof of building one block behind team's inital starting position.

2x Red (Health) one in the park, the other in an alley one block away from the exerience cannister.

Keeping the Belle of the Ball (Alchemiss) alive is easier than you think. Have all three other capes defeat the aliens and surround the portal. Once the portal zone (PZ as opposed to LZ) clear, move Alchemiss to it and shut it down. Before you go about this portal business, consider having the whole team use the experience can behind their starting position. Because of the cars that keep moving around the city, you may consider causing some wreckage to stop the flow of traffic and simply use the cars as weapons to toss at the aliens or the cars may run over your team.

Once Praetor appears, blast him into submission and clean up the aliens who appeared with him. If you want to fork around, you can use the portals as an infinite source of prestige again, but you should watch your team's health when you do. The radiation damage the aliens' spew is not laughing matter. Close the last portal and interrogate Praetor to end the mission.

Training
New Heroes: None

Consider Black Bird, El Diablo, and Microwave for the next mission.

Issue 31, A God Walks the Earth

Primary Objectives:
Find the source of the Bacchites
Interrogate the Sylphs to find out what's up
Eve must survive, cause she's hot

Secondary Objectives:
Defeat all of Pan's minions
Free the police by destroying the barricade

Enemies:
Green Sylph
Red Sylph
Manbull

Cannisters:
1x Green (Experience) in an alley on a corner of the map. Aerial survey.

1x Red (Health) arond the middle of the city, but not quite. Aerial survey.

The entire map is covered in what I like to call "The Maw's Bounty" -- a little homage to the Trickster from Thief Dark Project. The next few missions have the flavour of the Maw, and people who've played both should think about the thematic similarities of our contemporary view of what is "Primevil".

Going back to Freedom Force, the green crap makes spotting the Bacchites difficult, and their attacks are all direct, meaning it is difficult to discern where the source of the attack is coming from. Keep all your fliers afloat so avoid being entangled and move everyone as a team to cover for one another. Some of the Green Sylphs will pull of ambushes by morphing from trees. Learn to recognize the tree from which they morph from since they do not change. This way, you can attack first.

Beware the Manbulls. They do good damage and they cause knockback; plus they can run a good clip up to your knocked down capes and do it over and over again until they are dead. If you see one, make a long detour with Microwave (have a flying El Diablo as back-up in case Microwave gets entangled) and go behind a Manbull (stay far away). Snipe the Manbull with Microwave Beam until dead.

Once Eve ineterrogates three specific stoner girls (the red arrows), a fourth red arrow will point to the last sylph Eve needs to find. Once done, head for the center of the city, but try to sweep the rest of the map for minions of Pan before you do so.

Training
New Heroes: There are no more forking heroes, so fork off.

Microwave is essential, and you can use his radiation attacks to good effect. Diablo is a good choice against the green sylphs, Black Bird against the red sylphs, and someone else as a filler. Ant's Acid Bomb is useless against the green sylphs, but can be used against the red sylphs and silver sylphs. Just be aware of spilling any on the team.

Minuteman versus a Manbull is a suicide run, but Liberty Lad's Stun Grenades can be useful against them. If you want a second radiation shooting hero, you can bring along Mentor, but his high cost Electron Beam is less attractive since you've acquired Microwave. Man-Bot is going to be unavailable after the next two missions, so you can either use him or leave him to build the experience of another hero.

Issue 32, Forbidden Fruit

Primary Objectives:
Microwave must survive
Find all the fruit
Administer the fruit to a bacchite

Secondary Objectives:
None

Enemies:
Green sylph
Red sylph
Silver sylph
Manbull

Cannisters:
1x Green (Epereience) under a tree towards the far side of the island (from where the team initially starts).

1x Gold (Prestige) in a copse of trees to the right of the team's initial starting position.

1x Red (Health) outer edge of the island, underneath some trees. Do an aerial survey but be sure to zooom in.

Run the team in either a clockwise or counter-clockwise direction and have El Diablo, Black Bird, or someone else lead the charge. Find the small temples dedicated to Pan and destroy them with Microwave's Microwave Beam before they create more of his minions -- this is crucial since he can probably chip the building to death without bringing in more Bacchites or more importantly, Manbulls (for which no one can deal with up close).

Once the temple(s) are destroyed, have the rest of the team go near the magic tree and fight off the sylphs with the appropriate hero. Microwave is the only hero who can pick the correct fruit because of his Molecular Identifier (for sake of story). Repeat this for each and every grove. Waste the temple, fight off the Bacchites, and pick the fruit. A health cannister half-way through should help the team.

Once each grove is secured, Microwave only needs to whack a sylph and use her as a test subject to end the mission.

Training
New Heroes: Perhaps one of the most interesting words in the English language today, is the word, "Fork." Out of all the English words that begin with the letter "F", "Fork" is the only word that is referred to as the "F-word". It's the one magical word just by it's sound can describe pain, pleasure, hate, and love.

"Fork" as most words in the Englsih language, is derived from German, the word "friekin" which means, "to strike".

In English, fork falls into many grammatical categories, as a transitve verb for instance, "John forked Shirley". As an intransitive verb, "Shirley forks". It's meaning is not always sexual, it can be used as an adjective such as, "John's doing all the forking work." As part of an adverb, "Shirley talks too forking much." As an adverb enhancing an adjective, "Shirley is forking beautiful." As a noun, "I don't give a fork." As part of a word, "Abso-forking-lutely," or, "In-forking-credible." And as almost every word in a sentence, "Fork the forking forkers."

But you must realize that there aren't too many words with the versatility of "fork", as in these examples describing situations such as fraud, "I got forked at the used car lot." Dismay, "Aw, fork it." Trouble, "I guess I'm really forked now." Aggression, "Don't fork with me buddy." Difficulty, "I don't understand this forking question." Inquiry, "Who the fork was that?" Dissatisfaction, "I don't like what the fork is going on around here." Incompetence, "He's a fork-off." Dismissal, "Why don't you go outside and play 'hide and go fork yourself?'"

I'm sure you can think of many more examples. With all of these multi-purpose applications, how can anyone be offended when use the word? We say use this unqiue flexible word more often in your daily speech. It will identify the quality of your character immediately. Say it loudly and proudly -- "Fork you!"

It's about forking time I reached the forkin' end to tell you that there ain't any new forkin' heroes; the ones you forkin' ordered to the Island of forkin' Pan are the same forkin' ones you start with in the forkin' jail cell. If you don't like, go fork yourself.
