Walk-through
1. It may not look like you have a very large force here, but these aren't just any units. They're heroes. Heroes are just like your normal units except they attack faster, more accurately, and for longer range. The Dwarf and Bowmen, for example, can lob their respective projectiles one after the other. The Warlock can fire off two consecutive fireball blasts. Needless to say, you need to value these troops even more than conventional ones. Fortunately, you have two Heron Guard Heroes heavy with healing roots.

2. You begin watching a battle of wills between Deceiver and Shiver, whose army is cornered in this canyon. As a parting shot, she blasts him with her Whisper Dream and retreats to the deepest part of the canyon (to the northwest). Let her go for now. MAP

3. Begin by picking off the Soulless you can see from your starting position. MAP

4. From here, you can go anyway you like. The entire battlefield, save Shiver's hideout in the northwest, is open space, overrun with Thrall, Myrkridia, and Soulless. Most of these evil troops will come for your heads without being asked. MAP

5. Be ready for wave after wave of Thrall as you trudge slowly northwest. Use your Dwarf, Warlock and Bowman extensively, and make liberal use of the Dwarf's attack-and-retreat move. Launch ample Fire Arrows at clusters of Soulless for easy kills; your Bowman has plenty. MAP

Use the fire and retreat method to wipe out the Thrall with your Dwarf and Warlock Heroes. Keep lots of open space behind you to give you plenty of room to retreat.
6. Take every opportunity to convert Myrkridia to your cause. MAP

7. As you advance, take care of each wave in turn until they stop coming. You may have to retreat extensively to stay ahead of the hoards. MAP

8. Remember that there is no need for you to kill every unit; you must simply find the northwest pass and get there alive. When you're near the passage and all goes quiet, prepare to cross into Shiver's last stand. MAP

9. If you are playing on Heroic level or higher, you will have to deal with some Giant Myrkridia on the cliffs above the passage. Your Bowman and Warlock are your best weapons for this purpose. MAP

10. Navigate the passageway, butchering the Myrkridia who trot your way. Continue until you see Shiver. Heal the Deceiver before you go any farther. MAP

11. Bring the Deceiver forward to chat with Shiver. She orders the Shade Phelot (remember him?) to kill you where you stand. Phelot, still under the Deceiver's control, instead unleashes the Dispersal Dream on the dozens of Myrkridia waiting to attack. MAP

12. As they pop and die one after the other, the Deceiver ensnares Shiver in his life-draining spell until she expires. Unfortunately, her death is so cataclysmic that the Deceiver dies in the process. Mission accomplished.
