The most dangerous enemy is the one you can't see. The Mahir travel as fast, invulnerable shadows until they find their prey. They become briefly visible as they immobilize their victim and drain the life from his veins. It is only at this moment of attack that Mahir can be injured, so be certain to keep your units close together so that they can't drain any stragglers. These personal guardians of Soulblighter are only found on the game's two final levels, so be prepared for them when the time comes. Keep your eyes peeled for a disembodied shadow moving across the floor. ![]() The best tactic against Mahir is set up a line of Bowmen and send out a unit to attract the attention of a lurking Mahir. Bring your bait back toward your Bowman and allow the Mahir to catch him as he runs parallel to (not toward) your archery line. While the Mahir attacks, focus your arrow attack on it and it will go down quite easily. Otherwise, clusters of Berserks can slay Mahir with little trouble. Mauls Slow, gigantic, pig-like beasts with spiked clubs. Needless to say, they tend to use their brawn more than their brains. ![]() In multiplayer games, use Mauls to defend flags or balls; their heavy armor allows them to outlast most attacks. A mixed group of Mauls and Thrall should hold off most attacks in the feverish final seconds of a game of Last Man on the Hill.
