Identical in all ways to conventional Dwarves, but they are effectively invisible. The ultimate stealth operative, the Pathfinder can sneak unseen anywhere he likes as long as he refrains from doing things that make his presence known. The Pathfinder Dwarf will become visible if he makes contact with an enemy unit, drops or picks up a Satchel Charge, or attacks. If you have a particular mission that requires the Pathfinder Dwarf to achieve a goal, you must keep him alive, and probably therefore invisible, until he achieves that goal, or the scenario will terminate. ![]() Like regular Dwarves, Pathfinders are very slow and very fragile. Warriors ![]() Don't get the idea, however, that Warriors are solely defensive weapons. Unlike their Dark counterparts, the Thrall, Warriors are fairly fast on foot and attack. These finely polished fighters have more offensive potential than those undead punching bags. The durability of these units makes them a good choice for rushing and breaking up a group of Soulless and any other smaller, unarmored units. They are equally adept at dealing with undead units, like Ghasts, but are susceptible to the debilitating infections carried by these monsters. One application requiring special attention is the Warriors' effectiveness against Myrkridia. These lupine monsters can tear through a couple of Warriors with little problem, but a large number of Warriors skillfully brought around the Myrkridia will fell the monster before it can do too much damage. Warriors are the unit of choice for this purpose due to their superior armor. |
