ISDF Campaign Walk-Through
The ISDF campaign (17 missions in all) is really broken up into two halves. The first half is to teach you about the game in slow, steady turns, while the second half really prepares you for the challenge that lies ahead. The last few missions are definitely tough and will require a lot of effort, so save and save often
Each mission features game-oriented objectives and a plan on how to finish it. Sometimes there is more than one way to complete a mission, and certain events won't happen until you trigger them, so there can be a bit of "free" time to do some experimenting.
Mission One: This Is Not a Drill
Objectives:
- Search for the lost ISDF outpost
- Stay with Lieutenant Shabayev and follow her orders
After the transport doors open and the two scouts move out, follow the commander and follower her instructions. Stick to her like glue as she moves across the Pluto landscape.
You'll soon encounter a slow-moving Scion guardian; it's easy meat, so take it out and move on. Once you arrive at the base, you'll have to find the building that houses the communications bunker - examine each building by putting the target sight on it and pressing "I." Now jump out of the scout ("H" key), go inside, and find Major Manson.
You'll have to escort the truck back to base. Stick with it instead of rushing up ahead. |
After a short conversation, jump back into the scout and follow Shabayev into real combat against Scion sentries. Pick up the power-ups later on if you're depleted severely, then move to help Red One when they come under attack while you're at the base. The service truck should repair your damage.
Now escort the truck back to the base, dispatching the Scions that will attempt to destroy it. Try not to get too far ahead of it, as it is a bit slow.
