Mission Four: Too Hot
Objectives:
- Deploy and protect scavenger units
- Pick up the tag rifle and proceed to the ISDF communications bunker
- Fire a tracer round into the enemy ship
Command the newly built scavenger and deploy it to the nearby scrap pool. Shabayev will build rattler turrets one after another, so it's your job to defend the scavenger from incoming Scion attacks. Deploy the first two rattlers on either side of the scavenger, then put the next two near the recycler (on the side facing the nearby scrap pool).
A couple of waves of Scion scouts will come in to attack the scavenger and then the recycler, but it shouldn't be too much for your forces to handle.
Head over to the armory, hop out of your vehicle, and pick up the sniper rifle power-up. Now head out to the nav point Braddock has laid out for you. Run into the communications bunker and wait for the Scions to come.
As the Scions approach they will position themselves in front of the bunker. Use the zoom-in function on the rifle to aim right at the scout's cockpit. Shoot, and it should shatter - if you miss, you will have another chance, but it takes awhile for the ammunition to regenerate. Now jump back into the sabre tank and kill off the other Scions, leaving only the scout you hit to return to its ship. Follow it and the mission will end.
Mission Five: The Dark Planet
Objectives:
- Secure the landing zone
- Collect scrap using the scavengers
You'll have to jump inside the teleportal to drop the explosives. |
Stick with Shabayev as she scouts the perimeter, but be on the watch for waves of Scions that begin to attack the base. It starts with scouts and then moves up to sentries and warriors. Be careful not to hit friendlies as the firefight can get quite close to the recycler.
Shabayev will then drop a nav beacon at two successive scrap pools; create scavengers and deploy them on the pools. Build up some light forces to accompany you as well - at least four scouts. Take out any opposition between the recycler and the two pools (note that the second pool is well guarded by Scion turrets.
Now follow Major Manson very closely, avoiding the Scion gun spires. As you reach the teleportal, take out the two Scions. Jump out of the sabre, run up to the teleportal structure, and plant the explosives on it ("C" key). Now get out, quick.
