U.S. Campaign: POW Camp
Training | Pathfinder | Burning Village | Burned Village - Dawn | Car Ride | Brecourt Manor | Chateau | POW Camp |
This is your final U.S. mission and we promise it'll only take you ten minutes. That's because there's a time limit. You have ten minutes from the time the first shot is fired. After ten minutes, the full weight of the Nazis will come down on you and the mission automatically ends with your death. To prevent this, you'll need to move fast to find Major Ingram and get him out before time runs down.
Objective 1: Eliminate the guards at the main gate
It's you first. With a Springfield in hand, you must
sneak up towards the gate and take out the guards. It's easier to move unseen
from the left side. If you decide to take the right side, do not go too far up
the hill or you'll step into the minefield. Do that, and you'll hear a click...
right before you hear a big boom. There are two machinegun nests plus three
other guards. The alarm goes off whether it's called in or not, so don't worry
about stopping an enemy from getting to the booth. Instead, take out the
grouping of soldiers to the left, starting with the gunner and quickly nailing
the other two before they can react. Move forward and take out the other gunner
and finally the third guard. Your squad crashes the gates and all hell breaks
loose. Enjoy.
Objective 2: Locate Major Ingram
This mission is chaotic. Because of the tight time
limit, you must move quickly, which means you can't play hide and seek. You do
not want to leave your buddies, but you will need to separate from time to time.
The best option is to use split when your buddies are pinned down and go around
the house to flank the enemy. There is not a lot of health in this level, even
in Regular difficulty. You're gonna have to show off your skill.
Grenades are helpful, but the Thompson gun spread liberally about is even more so. Don't worry about snipers for now, there are only ground troops in the first part of the hunt. When you reach the cafeteria, you'll find health and Nazis. Drop down when you need to reload, then pop up and fire. Remember, time is critical here. When the cafeteria is clear, switch to your Springfield. There's a sniper to the right in a tower. Take him down and then switch back to the Thompson. Quickly move to the prison cell (check the Objective Marker... it's also the direction your men are looking). The Major is strangling the guard. Help him out and set him free. You'll want at least 4:30 left on the clock at this point.
Outside the cafeteria, a half-dozen or so Nazis await. Don't play duck and cover with them. Instead, move out and go right. Circle around the building so you can attack from the side while your buddies take the Nazis head-on. Continue to move quicky, reloading as you run. Do not enter any buildings unless you see your buddies go as well. Instead of the Objective Meter, you can simply follow Major Ingram and company towards the final destination. At one point, an enemy truck shows up to drop off more troops. A grenade will destroy it and kill the men, but you can also shoot the truck numerous times to cause an explosion.
Congrats on finishing the U.S. Campaign. Don't get cocky kid, there's a whole lot more way left to fight.
