Map Recon
Mashtuur City (USMC vs MEC)
Without any air power available, the battles on this map are going to be close range and bloody. Each team is started with one Capture Point and will battle for control over two neutral ones. Each team will quickly collect one of the neutral points, and then do battle across two bridges. Defending one Capture Point while trying to cross a bridge to attack can be a tricky task, especially with only 8 players on your team. If you find yourself having trouble, blow up one of the bridges with C4. The trench running below the bridges will provide a natural defense while you send your forces across the other bridge.
It is important to be wary when crossing any bridge. They act as choke points and your enemy is certainly going to lay traps at any point they know you will try to cross. Watch out for tanks camped on the opposite side as well as mines lying on the bridge. Engineers are very helpful on this map. They allow you to lay mines as well as repair anything the enemy has decided to destroy.
Medium Map - 32 Players/Large Map - 64 Players
The medium and large maps are identical, except in the large map each base has one extra control point that can not be captured. Even though these are large games, the key to victory is in a speedy assault. The team that can quickly secure two of the three neutral Capture Points is at a marked advantage, as you can now begin to surround and swallow the enemy by choking off their attacks. The only air support in these maps is a transport helicopter. While useful for quickly converting control points, the small nature of these maps makes it so they are easily dealt with by ground forces. Use the turrets and mounted machine guns to ensure that the enemy doesn't spread across the map in a transport copter.
Since this is an urban scenario, fighting from inside and on top of the buildings is a key to success. Squads containing an Anti-Tank, Sniper, and Special Forces can easily move through the streets and protect each other.
There are several bridges located close to the MEC base. Remember, you can use these as choke points. Load them up with C4 and detonate it to prevent anyone from moving across it. Or, throw down a lot of mines to take out the vehicles. Then cover the bridge with Sniper fire and watch the enemy drop as they try to cross.
Kubra Dam (USMC vs MEC)
This is a Double Assault game with two neutral Capture Points. The best way to ensure victory is to quickly take control of the Capture Point on top of the dam. The lower Capture Point can easily be taken by parachuting down from above and attacking. On top of that, the lower dam does not lead to a good means of attacking another Capture Point since it is at the lowest area on the map.
Once you have secured the upper part of the dam, work towards taking over the lower. Do this by launching multiple attacks. Have part of your team parachute down to attack the lower dam while the rest of your team attacks the main base. The main base attackers probably won't succeed, but it will be a good diversion and help you to secure the lower dam. Once you do, you'll have a ticket drain. Each of the team's starting CPs are extremely difficult to capture. Be content to hold down three Capture Points and drain the opposing team's tickets. Once you have them into just one Capture Point, keep them holed up in there with constant fire. If you find they are mounting a significant counter attack, consider destroying parts of the dam to make sure they can't roll across with vehicles and gain a foothold on the dam.
Medium Map - 32 Players/Large Map - 64 Players
Both the medium and large versions of this map give the MEC an overwhelming number of Capture Points at the outset. The USMC needs to make sure they quickly take over several of these to stop losing tickets. Due to the multi-tiered base structure that exists on this map, air superiority is a must. The USMC must make use of all of the vehicles that start at their base and have the squads spread out to thin out any enemy defenses. A squad in the transport helicopter filled with Special Forces should cruise around quickly at the start and look for any unguarded or lightly guarded Capture Points. Once you do manage to get a foothold, set up defenses at the new bases. Since your initial base is yours for good, only attacking forces should return to it to pick up new vehicles and maintain the command structures.
For the MEC, choking the USMC at their access road is the method for success. Have the best pilots start at the farthest CP. This will give them access to the airfield and allow them to begin fighting any USMC troops that try to take to the air. The rest of the defense should move in towards the USMC base. Laying down mines on the access roads and positioning Snipers around it to take out any solitary infantry will keep large forces of USMC troops from spilling out towards your Capture Points. The longer you can hold them there, the better your odds are of winning.
