    Strange Bedfellows
    You're going to need help to take on the Trickster in his own domain, and who better to help you than your good buddies, the Hammerites - the only folks who seem to believe in the existence of the Trickster anyway.

    You quickly discover that the Trickster had the same idea - the Hammerite temple is a shambles and his creatures populate the upper levels. Pick up any number of arrows scattered about, but watch out for any number of the Trickster's minions. Find the altar where previously the huge statue used to stand. In its place, however, is a secret ladder leading downward to a series of caves below. Now you need to see if there are any Hammerites left.

    The basement level is a large circle-shaped ring of caves. The network is constantly patrolled by apemen, who can be either ignored or attacked - there are plenty of shadows to hide in. Move around the cavern counterclockwise. At about the halfway point you'll come to a larger cave with a large ramp running farther downhill. Go down the ramp and you'll wind up in another large cavern with a huge opening in the center. At the bottom is a creature-infested pit, and in between is a level with an X-shaped bridge leading to four different caverns. Immediately to the right of the entrance is a locked door you'll need to access later, and across the opening is an opening in the wall that leads down to the in-between level. You'll now find yourself on one leg of the X-shaped bridge. Go to the far side (where one chamber looks like it has a vertical pool) and head down the stairs.

    The Hammerites want you to recapture their high priest before they'll help.
    You'll wind up at a fortified entrance where the Hammerites are holed up. They'll help you, but first you need to retrieve their high priest who has been kidnapped by the apemen and is being held hostage. The Hammerite guard will give you a map and the key to the door mentioned above. Go back up to the top of the cavern and use the key on the door.
