The User interface
The user interface is self explanatory, but for clarification some things are dealt with in more detail here.
The help menu
The help menu can be found by activating the info tab in the main menu screen. There is a selection of hints and tips here that you might find useful before beginning the game ... oh go on, nobody ever reads the instructions ...
The Set Up Menu
This menu can be found from the main menu screen under the options tab.
Here you will find the control preferences, there are a few things here unique to PainKeep Arena: The Weapons & Commands submenus (detailed below).
Weapons Submenu
This is where you can set which key controls the Special Weapons. The Gravity Well, Auto Sentry, Beans and Beartrap can all be given a unique key. By default all PainKeep Arena weapons are available through the previous weapon / next weapon commands. You will find giving each item its unique key will have many benefits in battle.
Commands Submenu
Dragon Deploy: Hold any one of the Special Weapons in hand, press the dragon deploy key and the weapon will be mounted on the front of the Dragon. The weapon can now be launched across the map, great for long distance Gravity Wells or Sentries.
Cycle Holdables: The Holdable weapons appear on the game screen to your right, You can get quite a collection, this command makes life easier. When you use a Holdable the one at the top of the list is first activated. Simply cycle them so the Holdable you wish to use is uppermost.
PKA Full Weapon Cycling: With this activated (default) all PainKeep weapons (except holdables) will be available through the previous weapon / next weapon keys.
Last weapon: This will return you to the last weapon held. Useful for situations where you might make a quick weapon change but need to switch back quick. Most often used in custom scripts.
The Create Server menu
There are a couple of extra commands added to the regular server settings. These can be found in the PKA Advanced Settings sub menu.
Here you can specify the alternate maps for the special voting portal in the hub as well as set the Private Bot skill level.
To select which maps will be added to the hub simply click the levelshots until you are happy with your selection. Available maps are drawn from the .pk3's (if any) placed within the /pkarena directory.
