When you receive the message to investigate the unknown object, order the recycler and both tanks to follow you. After identifying the Hesphestus you're ordered to go to the Starport, but watch out - two turrets and a howitzer lie between you and the objective. Don't take needless damage knocking them out quickly: No matter how fast you go, the Russians will beat you to the Starport.

Deploy the recycler as soon as you see a geyser at the Starport and make two scavengers, then identify the three buildings as ordered. Remember that as soon as the last one is identified, two Soviet fighters will attack.

Be on the lookout for this howitzer blocking the path to the Starport.
Continue collecting scrap, build a factory, then manufacture tanks and scouts as quickly as possible while you go to the Soviet launch pad (the best way there is to move in a generally counterclockwise direction through the canyons). Don't build turrets to defend the recycler - as soon as you discover the destination of the Russian transport, all of your forces will be heading to the Dust Off Nav Beacon anyway, and turrets are worthless for defending a moving ship.

As soon as you deploy the Wyoming, this Soviet fighter will move in on an attack run.

You'll probably run into Soviet fighters and tanks on your way to the launch pad, but don't stop and fight - if you simply keep hauling butt at top speed, you'll get to the launch pad mostly unscathed. Identify the launch pad from as far away as possible (around 175 or 150 meters); if you dive down into the canyon where it's set up, you're unlikely to get back to the Dust Off Nav Beacon alive.
