Probably the hardest part of this mission comes at the beginning: You've got to use your sniper rifle to kill a Soviet pilot and commandeer his fighter. The best tactic is to head toward the Soviet checkpoint at top speed, and just before you enter the small pass leading to it, hit the H key to eject from your ship. The result is a slingshot effect that'll hurl you very close to the checkpoint. And if you remember to switch to your sniper rifle while you're in midair, you'll probably find yourself ready to get off a shot at a parked fighter. Using the sniper rifle on a craft that's not moving makes things much easier.

Once you get into the fighter, identify the checkpoint then head for Nav 2. Identify that checkpoint then make a note of the locations of Checkpoints 3, 4, 5, and 6. Head to them in that order and don't fret when the Soviets use the wrong checkpoint numbers - these are the ones you need to go to.

 
Get as close as possible to the communications tower and don't budge until you receive word that the transmission is complete.
When you get to Checkpoint 6, move in very close to the communications tower and sit tight until the transmission has been uploaded - then try to get home as fast as you can, because the Soviets will have caught on to your trick, and every ship you meet will be firing at you. Make it to the drop zone and the mission's over.
