Behind Enemy Lines
Don't take the most direct route to rendezvous with Eldridge - this is the highway where Soviet fighter patrols will be cruising in search of you. Instead, move through the narrow valley to your left as you face Nav Beacon 1, and be ready to deal with two Soviet fighters blocking your path. (Note: At this point, I prefer to leave the rocket tank to which I've been assigned and have a tank pick me up because I'll want to use its mortar capabilities later. The rest of this walk-through is based on this tactic.)
At the rendezvous, set up the armory and upgrade your minigun to an SP-Stabber, then enter the base where the radar array is located. Approach the base from between six and eight o'clock - you'll know you're going in correctly if you're able to target the Soviet tug or storage building. Try to enter it any farther north and you'll probably get chopped up by fire from turrets and gun towers. Once inside the base, hop out of your tank and grab a Soviet tank and use it to destroy both the radar array and the L-power structure (to neutralize the powerful gun towers). Go back to your tank and head for the Utah - it comes under attack very shortly after being deployed.
By now you'll have a factory, recycler, and armory at your disposal. Deploy any that aren't on geysers and start building tanks and scouts to defend each unit. Go to the armory and pick up a second SP-Stabber and a splinter mortar, then head for the CCA recycler - it's to the east of the base containing the radar array. Approach carefully from the south or southwest and watch for two turrets guarding the perimeter. Guide your tank to a spot on the cliffs above the base where you're out of the reach of enemy fire, then locate the L-power structure and start hurling splinter mortars near its base until it's destroyed. Because there are so many other important structures nearby, enough splinter mortars will take them out as well.
Head back to the armory, reload, and have a tank or two escort you back to the enemy recycler for the final attack run. Be sure the SP-Stabbers are locked so that both fire at the same time, then make an attack run on the recycler. All you've got to do is destroy it and then get out as fast as you can - a piece of cake given how much firepower those two SP-Stabbers provide.
